    ABOUT YASS VALLEY COUNCIL:
Yass Valley Council is a local government area in the Australian State of New South Wales. It is located in the Southern Tablelands region of New South Wales on the Hume and Barton Highways and the Main Southern railway line.
The Shire includes Yass, Binalong, Bookham, Bowning, Gundaroo, Murrumbateman, Sutton and Wee Jasper.
Yass Shire was proclaimed on 1 January 1980 following the amalgamation of Goodradigbee Shire and the Municipality of Yass. Yass Shire in turn was dissolved and merged into the Yass Valley Council on 11 February 2004, following a further amalgamation of Yass Shire and parts of Gunning and Yarrowlumla Shires.
    ABOUT THE TENDER:
This tender is for Contract YVC/ASS/07.2014, Yass Dam Raising Riparian Revegetation.
As part of the Yass Dam Raising project, Yass Valley Council is required to offset inundated vegetation through the revegetation of riparian land along the new Full Storage Level (FSL).
The revegetation works are to be undertaken on private property under agreements between Council and the individual landowners. These agreements (Property Vegetation Plans) are currently being negotiated and will clearly define the extent of revegetation works that are to be undertaken on the individual properties.
The initial aims of the PVP's are to gain an agreement with each landowner to undertake:
    ~Weed control
~Primary revegetation of the riparian zone (to extend at least 20m above the new top water level)
~Fencing of revegetated areas to exclude stock.
Council has set a target of revegetating 17.7 hectares of riparian land.
At present one PVP, with a revegetation area of 5.35ha has been secured and guaranteed under this contract. It is likely that an additional 4 PVP's, with a combined revegetation area of 8.51ha will be finalised in the near future for inclusion under this contract. There is the potential for further PVP's to be negotiated and subsequent works included under this contract.
Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified Contractors to undertake the works outlined above. The works will be undertaken gradually as agreements are reached with each individual land owner and are to be paid for on a Unit-Rate basis.
