RURAL COUNCILS VICTORIA. SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITY: THE FUTURE OF COMMUNITIES CONFERENCE.
Innovative ways to create vibrant communities led by active, caring and engaged citizens.
RCV is offering sponsorship opportunities to member councils to attend this two day conference in Melbourne on 26-27 August 2015.
We are living in times of unprecedented change and complexity and that governments are becoming increasingly aware they often do not have the answers to the major challenges confronting society.
What does all this mean? Local communities are now faced with the prospect of needing to find solutions from within. Building community health, resilience, connectedness and inclusion will increasingly be the focus of local government. Local communities will need to re-localise, build from the inside out and take responsibility for their own future.
The conference explores:· communities transitioning beyond engagement and beyond dependency
    · the global trend towards community empowerment with a new emphasis on localism
    · how great communities don't just happen - they are created, nurtured and sustained by caring and involved residents
    · devolved community planning, community governance, building social capital, improving community wellbeing and providing public value
    · how fewer dollars for local government means a greater focus is needed on what's important to communities.
    This two-day event features:
    · nine great learning workshops
    · a great line-up of speakers and Q&A panels· a Gala Dinner with guest speaker
This conference is suitable for Councillors, CEOs, Directors, Managers (community related) as well as a wide range of council staff.
RCV is offering to sponsor participants who may not normally get the opportunity to attend a conference like this for the full registration fee covering the conference and dinner. Please note any travel and accommodation costs will need to be covered by the nominating council.
If you are interested in this opportunity please complete the nomination form and send to nwakelin@mav.asn.au by COB Friday 31 July 2015. Successful applicants will be notified by COB Friday 7 August 2015.

What our Customers are Saying

  • I would recommend TenderLink to other companies and organisations - definitely. We didn't hesitate to re-subscribe when our first year's subscription expired, because we don't want to miss out on any opportunities: the service gives us confidence.

  • Change is inevitable, and with any change you expect some amount of pain. More often than not, it can be extremely disruptive, but the change to the TenderLink system was the least painful experience I have had in my professional life.

  • The course was excellent and I found it to be very practical and useful. It was definitely pitched at the right level since I am responsible for writing most of the tenders within my organisation.
