    Rotorua Lakes Council in collaboration with Netball Rotorua has identified an opportunity for development of the Rotorua Netball Centre in the Westbrook Recreation Reserve, with the aim of hosting more events. To do so, an upgrade of the courts to Netball New Zealand standards is required.
    To achieve the standard required, the court area requires resurfacing of eight premier courts to standard dimensions. Civil Works including extension of court area and drainage improvements are being undertaken in advance of this resurfacing works contract to facilitate the upgrade.
    In collaboration with Stakeholders and as per the Netball New Zealand Guidelines for court consistency, slip resistance and shock absorption, a cushioned hard court surface using a prefabricated rubber mat system is sought. The Rebound Ace HSA Club surfacing system is considered to be an appropriate system, though systems that meet the equivalent performance criteria will be considered.
    The contract award is contingent on funding. A firm price is required for the funding application for this work. As such, the selected tender will be informed of their status as preferred Tenderer until such time as funding is available and the contract is awarded.
    The program for the work is to be mutually agreed within the dates of 1st October 2017 to 1st March 2018. Tenderers are requested to provide an indicative program of works.
    The work in this contract includes:
    Resurfacing of eight standard dimension netball courts including umpire and runoff zones covering approximately 7900 m2. Provision to resurface the adjacent non-standard courts (approx. 5100 m2) Including:
    - Preparatory work to the existing asphalt substrate
    - Application of cushioned composite court surfacing layers (Rebound Ace HSA Club or equivalent)
    - Linemarking to Netball NZ standard dimensions
