The City of Greater Geelong invites tenders closing 2pm Friday 28 April 2017.
The City wishes to undertake a trial of Technologies that embrace the concept of "Smart City's" with the goal being to prepare for a renewable energy future, become more predictive in relation to waste collection and collect traffic and pedestrian movement to enable better planning of CBD and major population areas.
The move into IOT infrastructure and its role in the development of Geelong as a smart city, is an area the City has identified in its Digital Geelong strategy. To establish the bona fides of a wider implementation, a pilot process is required.
City of Greater Geelong is requesting submissions from vendors who are able to source "best of Breed" solutions from diverse suppliers then project manage the installation and commissioning of these solutions providing a "one stop" for ongoing support and maintenance. All submissions to include ongoing maintenance and ongoing licensing (re-current) costs. There is a preference for all solution's software to be "cloud based". Ability to integrate into the existing Cisco Network infrastructure currently used by the City of Greater Geelong is essential.

AIRWAYS. UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT.
    RFx ID: 18485337.
Close Date: Friday, 21 April 2017 at 4:00 PM.
Tender Type: Registration of Interest (ROI).
Overview: In 2013 Airways recognised the emerging drone industry in New Zealand and the potential impact the industry could have on our traditional air navigation services. Following consultation with the drone industry, Airways, in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle New Zealand (UAVNZ, New Zealand's drone industry body), launched airshare.co.nz.
The airshareTM web portal was developed to educate drone flyers about Civil Aviation rules by providing easy to understand information and encourage safe flying. Airshare also enables the drone industry by providing an online tool to log flights and obtain authorisation from Air Traffic Control for operations within controlled airspace.
Whilst airshareTM has streamlined the drone authorisation processes for Airways at the present time, we recognise that this system will not be fit for purpose for the predicted exponential growth in drone traffic. Both Airways and drone operators will be in need of an autonomous drone management system to allow safe, efficient operations and access to controlled airspace.
In addition to the needs of Airways and its drone customers, there are numerous government and non-government stakeholders who each hold a unique set of requirements for a drone management system. Airways is taking the lead in this space on behalf of New Zealand stakeholders and we are seeking information through this RFI from Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM)

MINISTRY OF EDUCATION. TE HONO WEBSITE PHASE 2.
    RFx ID: 18499603.
    Reference: WS178044.
Close Date: Wednesday 19 April 2017 at 4.00 pm.
    Request for Proposals (RFP).
Overview: New Zealand's early childhood curriculum, Te Whariki, is being updated. The Ministry of Education has developed Te Hono - a dual-language website - and online resources to guide the implementation of Te Whariki and support teaching and learning in early childhood education (ECE). Our website contains more information about the different kinds of ECE services and kohanga reo available in New Zealand.
We are looking for a credible provider to review users' experience with Te Hono and its two portals, manage and maintain Te Hono and its content, and develop and publish additional content. We will consider more than one provider if this will deliver the best solution.
This opportunity will run from May 2017 to June 2018.
This is a unique opportunity to have an early and direct influence on the quality of new online resources that support ECE services' design and delivery of local curricula in line with the updated Te Whariki.
The successful provider will also form an integral part of new feedback loops between the Ministry, kaiako and professional ECE learning and development providers. They will publish innovative examples of the updated Te Whariki in action, host webinars on Te Hono, and capture users' ideas about the website's future development.
