DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. PROVISION OF A CONSULTANCY TO DEVELOP A SOLUTION FOR MAINTAINING THE INTEROPERABILITY OF ICD 10 AM AND SNOMED CT AU.
    ATM ID: IHPA/27/1617.
    Agency: Department of Health.
Close Date & Time: 20 January 2017 at 2.00 pm (ACT Local Time).
    Location: NSW.
    ATM Type: Request for Tender.
Description: As per the Non-Admitted Patient Emergency Department Care National Minimum Data Set, principal diagnosis is currently captured and reported by emergency departments (EDs) via two main systems: ICD 10 AM; and SNOMED CT AU EDRS.
IHPA uses maps to group episodes reported in SNOMED CT AU to the emergency care Urgency Related Groups (URG) classification system, which uses ICD 10 AM to categorise presentations. At present, the mapping file contains 5,761 SNOMED CT AU codes which are mapped to 3,055 ICD 10 AM 6th edition codes. However, this mapping is out of date with major changes having been made to both SNOMED-CT-AU and ICD-10-AM since the mapping file was developed.
At a minimum, IHPA requires a mechanism to convert SNOMED CT AU codes to ICD 10 AM codes every six months, in line with jurisdictional reporting timeframes. The scope is limited to the SNOMED CT AU EDRS and the full ICD 10 AM 10th edition code set. Where possible, the contractor should also consider the inclusion of the full set of SNOMED CT AU codes.
Timeframe for Delivery: It is anticipated the project work commence early 2017; with the project completed by the end of 2017.

ALFRED HEALTH. SUPPLY OF MATERIALS FOR THE UPGRADE OF DATA BACKUP AND ARCHIVING INFRASTRUCTURE. TENDER.
    Number: T593-11-16.
    Enquiries: Steve McBride, email: S.McBride@alfred.org.au
Description: In 2011, Alfred Health implemented modern data storage and archiving solution catering to data requirements that are unique to the public health environment. The files are large and are varied in format, need to be retained securely for long periods and must be quickly accessible. Examples included imaging data, scanned medical records and multimedia files.
The technology implemented at that time enabled the organisation to utilise archiving allowing infrequently used data to be moved off expensive primary storage to less expensive secondary storage specially design for secure saving of data for long periods of time.
The system also allowed for more secure and reliable data backups or copies of data stored mitigating risk against data loss.
    The existing infrastructure is now in need of urgent upgrade to allow:· greater storage capacity to meet the rapidly growing needs of the organisation;
    · to provide improvements in data retrieval performance; and
    · to provide improvements in the resilience of data storage
Funding has been made available for Alfred Health to progress with the upgrade which is anticipated to commence in Mid December 2016.
This tender is being undertaken to procure the necessary storage and backup hardware needed to implement the fore mentioned solution.
Closes on Friday 25 November 2016 at 3:00pm AEDT, Melbourne, Victoria.
