ABOUT THE CITY OF FAIRFIELD:
Fairfield City is located 32 kilometres South-West of the Sydney Central Business District (CBD), covers an area of some 104 square kilometres, incorporating 27 suburbs and is bounded by the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Penrith, Liverpool, Cumberland, Canterbury-Bankstown and Blacktown.
Fairfield City is home to approximately 200,000 people and is one of NSW's most populous Local Government Area.
Council is a body politic constituted under the Local Government Act 1993 with the general functions set out in the Local Government Act and is enable to enter into contracts and arrangements of the type contemplated in this Request for Tender (RFT).
Fairfield City Council is self-insured where it provides its own insurance to its workers instead of going through an insurance agent.

ABOUT THE TENDER:

Fairfield City Council is seeking an experienced and licensed metal fabricator contractor that will be responsible for the grandstand awning and lower roof construction. The contractor will need to provide evidence of their NSW Accreditation in Engineering Fabrication Trade/ Fabrication Trade (Boilermaker/Welding).
The contract will be involved in the removal of the small existing awning over the Grandstand, the construction of one new Awning over the entire existing Grandstand fixed at ground level and the replacement / Construction of the lower roof structure.
The successful contractor will need to provide the following services:
Communication with the Superintendent of the site.
Construction methodology and all documents relating to its implementation;

The Stadium delivers an event venue for myriad sports, from elite broadcast events, to large participant events and community activities. This exciting project will upgrade a highly regarded venue already offering a quality playing surface and broadcast lighting but in need of an upgrade user facilities. The project has two phases, firstly construction of new southern and northern grandstands and annex building, featuring new spectator seating, team and spectator facilities, and essential event organiser requirements. Secondly the refurbishment of existing grandstand will deliver new corporate hospitality, media and commentary opportunities that are essential in the delivery of elite level events and will provide aesthetic improvements for seamless connection linking the old with the new.
