    Close Date: Tuesday, 17 January 2017, 10:00 AM (Pacific/Auckland UTC+13:00).
    Request for Proposals (RFP).
Overview: RFP Overview: The proposed streetscape upgrade has a project budget of $12 million and presents the opportunity to transform Hurstmere Road to reflect the importance of this Takapuna thoroughfare. The upgrade will enable us to emphasise the strengths of this central pedestrian promenade and its unique location and proximity to the beach. The proposed transformation affords the opportunity to implement a 'water sensitive design solution reflecting Takapuna's unique location and natural attributes. It aims to increase pedestrian amenity, reduce vehicular dominance, support growth and investment and create a robust, ecologically and hydrologically appropriate and low maintenance streetscape. The project area is Hurstmere Road between Anzac Street and Lake Road, but excluding any upgrade to the intersections at these locations.
This brief sets out the services required by Auckland Transport for the Hurstmere Rd Streetscape upgrade. This project brief is a request for professional design, engineering, planning services and cost management from Concept Design stage through to construction drawings stage; including developed, detailed and tender package, consent lodgement and construction drawings. The tenderer will be required to provide in their response to this brief; cost, timeframes and an outline of methodology.
What we need: Auckland Transport wish to engage a multi-disciplinary consultant team to provide professional design services for the streetscape upgrade of Hurstmere Rd. This would consist of professional design, engineering, planning and cost management services from Concept Design stage through to construction drawings stage, including preliminary and detailed design and Engineering Plan approval, tender package and construction drawings.

    Notice Type: Expression of Interest

    Region: New South Wales
    Closing Date: 16/12/2016

    ABOUT UNSW:
Established in 1949, the University of New South Wales is one of Australia's leading research and teaching universities. UNSW is a founding member of the Group of Eight research intensive universities in Australia. For more information about UNSW, please refer to the website at www.unsw.edu.au

    ABOUT SIRF:
UNSW Solar Industrial Research Facility (SIRF) goal is to increase the value of UNSW's research to manufacturers. It adds value by enabling research on industrial scale equipment and processes. This shortens the learning feedback loop for applying research to manufacturing and demonstrating the technology.

Partnerships with companies (Roth & Rau, Suntech, CSUN, REC, BT Imaging, LG, Sunrise) and government (ARENA) allowed the installation of the initial pilot manufacturing capabilities in 2014. Since then some equipment has been added.

The "Torch Innovation Precinct" (Torch) initiative intends to set up a collaboration precinct by 2020. It will bring together the research community, industry, entrepreneurs, government and investors. The aim is to foster innovation and speed up commercialisation of new technologies.

Starting in 2016, a "prototype incubator" of the Torch Precinct will be set up on UNSW campus. The SIRF is planned to be part of this prototype, since it is designed for industrially relevant R&D, and is currently up and running.

There are a number of tools that need to be installed to increase its value as part of the prototype incubator. In particular, industry partners and SME entrepreneurs need to be able to complete their experimental work in the SIRF lab.

    ABOUT THE EOI:
Respondents are invited from select suitably qualified Contractors for the provision for the Expression of Interest (EOI) in becoming prequalified to be on a Panel of Specialists to be able to receive and respond to Request for Tenders (RFT) for specialist works for the SIRF Torch project on the following capabilities: design, construction, design and construction, maintenance and peer review. The works will be on the upgrade of the SIRF facility comprising a number of additional process tools that will add capability to the SIRF facility in the areas of Advanced Hydrogenation, PERC and PERL processing and increasing the throughput and reliability of the line. This work will be completed in packages, with the exact timing and make-up of each package depending on tool availability (some of which are still under development), research priorities and the staged release of funds. The works are described in the attached EOI documentation. A Panel of Specialists will be created for each capability.

    REGISTRATION:
EOI documents must be obtained after pre-registration on the UNSW Website (see option below).

    ENQUIRIES:
All enquiries in relation to this EOI should be directed to the online forum (see option below). UNSW staff are unable to respond to verbal enquiries in relation to this EOI.

    MANDATORY SITE VISIT:
To be held at 8.30am Wednesday 7 December 2016 at SIRF, UNSW, Kensington.

    SUBMISSIONS:
Completed responses must be submitted via the electronic tender box using the attached Word and Excel version of the Schedule/s (pdf files where necessary). Respondents will receive a Successful Submission Receipt timed and dated upon completion. Should assistance be required please use the online manual on the portal under Support/Online Manuals/Making a Submission or contact TenderLink Customer Support on 1800 233 533 or email support@tenderlink.com

    CLOSING DATE AND TIME:
The EOI closes at 2pm (AEST) on the 16 December 2016 and submissions must be fully received by this time. At its own discretion, UNSW reserves the right to conduct the Request for tender process and select the successful respondent(s) as it sees fit. Late, verbal, faxed, mailed or emailed proposals will not be accepted.
