Tender Type: Notice of Information (NOI).
Overview: Invitation: RNZAF Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Market Engagement Event 1 & 2 June 2017.
Last year NZDF announced that we would be reviewing our current Aircraft Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider arrangements for the RNZAF. The purpose of this work is to identify strategic commercial options to enable the delivery of MRO across our current platforms while allowing for the potential to support future platforms.
To inform our review, we wish to invite key industry representatives to attend a Market Engagement Event in Central Auckland on Thursday 1 June 2017 and Friday 2 June 2017.

    · seek insight from industry to explore ways of delivering required outcomes.
The event will involve a presentation from NZDF leadership from 0830 Thursday 1 June, followed by an open question and answer forum. The remainder of the two days is available for one-on-one interviews to discuss potential MRO delivery options. Depending on demand, NZDF availability may be limited.
Please register your interest in attending the Event by emailing via: dcs.vm@nzdf.mil.nz using the subject "AIR MRO Market Event". We will then provide further information about the event and requirements for attendance.

    Email: leanne.mills@finance.nsw.gov.au
Tender Details: Spatial Services (under a second EOI running in parallel) is seeking proposals for acquisition of aerial Imagery and LiDAR. This EOI will consider any potential acquisition approaches, some of which may mean Spatial Services elects not to continue with its own aircraft operations and maintenance, and direct ownership or leasing of aircraft. The purpose of this EOI is to establish options for continued aircraft operations, including costs and benefits, as a necessary input to determining the most cost effective and efficient Imagery and LiDAR acquisition program.
Renewal in June 2017 of two aircraft contracts.
    1. Operations and maintenance of VH-NSW, DFSI Spatial Services's 33 year old Cessna 421C for Imagery capture
    2. Leasing and maintenance of the LiDAR capture aircraft.
The intent of the EOI is to open up and review the market place, especially around whether we continue to maintain VH-NSW. This aircraft is due for wing and structural inspections between now and June 2019, with a minimum cost of $149,000 and two months downtime.
As part of the EOI we are seeking a solution around possible disposal /selling, then leasing of an aircraft to replace VH-NSW.
The remainder of the EOI is to review suppliers for the continued delivery of the Imagery and LiDAR acquisition program.

AIRWAYS. UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT.
    RFx ID: 18485337.
Close Date: Friday, 21 April 2017 at 4:00 PM.
Tender Type: Registration of Interest (ROI).
Overview: In 2013 Airways recognised the emerging drone industry in New Zealand and the potential impact the industry could have on our traditional air navigation services. Following consultation with the drone industry, Airways, in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle New Zealand (UAVNZ, New Zealand's drone industry body), launched airshare.co.nz.
The airshareTM web portal was developed to educate drone flyers about Civil Aviation rules by providing easy to understand information and encourage safe flying. Airshare also enables the drone industry by providing an online tool to log flights and obtain authorisation from Air Traffic Control for operations within controlled airspace.
Whilst airshareTM has streamlined the drone authorisation processes for Airways at the present time, we recognise that this system will not be fit for purpose for the predicted exponential growth in drone traffic. Both Airways and drone operators will be in need of an autonomous drone management system to allow safe, efficient operations and access to controlled airspace.
In addition to the needs of Airways and its drone customers, there are numerous government and non-government stakeholders who each hold a unique set of requirements for a drone management system. Airways is taking the lead in this space on behalf of New Zealand stakeholders and we are seeking information through this RFI from Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM)
