    This specification covers the service provisions for the hire of a suitable aircraft, crew and equipment to conduct a LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) aerial inspection and report on the condition of vegetation on easements. The Principal's staff will not be available or required to be in the Aircraft during the duration of the inspections. The services to be provided are listed in the requirements set out in Clause 11.
    The extent of the work covers inspection and reporting for all of the Principal's 132kV, 220kV, 330kV and 500kV transmission lines in New South Wales over a period of three (3) years. Depending on the required frequency of the LiDAR inspections on each line, some lines will be inspected annually with others being every 2 or 3 years. There are over 12,000 route kilometres of lines comprising single and multiple pole wood, concrete or steel structures and steel lattice towers in single and double circuit configurations. There are over 37,000 structures in the Principal's network. A list of all Transmission lines, circuit lengths and year requiring inspection is included in Attachment 7 (to be used as a general guide only).
    All work performed is to be in accordance with ENA NENS 08: National guidelines for aerial surveillance of overhead electricity networks/energy Networks Association.
    Note: There are sensitive areas requiring approvals to enter restricted air space located along the routes of the Principal's transmission lines, including but not limited to: Richmond and Williamtown Airbases, Holsworthy and Singleton Army Bases and Lucas Heights Nuclear Reactor. It is essential that the representatives be contacted prior to flying these areas.

    Description: Geoscience Australia requires the charter of 2 helicopters to transport 2 passengers, 15 kg of survey equipment and up to 90 kg of sampling material dependent on land transport options. It is anticipated 10 to 15 sites can be visited a day spaced approximately 25 km apart over the aforementioned area. 6 kg samples will be collected at each site with duplicate samples approximately every tenth site. Sample collection at each site will take 10 to 15 minutes and duplicate sample sites will take 20 to 30 minutes. During sample collection a geologist and field assistant will take and pack the soil sample, photograph the site and the samples, and record the site details and on-site measurements.
