REGISTRATION OF INTEREST FOR THE DISPOSAL OF V-SET TRAINS.
RFT ID ISD-18-7238.
RFT Type: Invitation to Respond.
Closes: 4th June 2018 at 12:00pm.
Tender Details: A new fleet of state-of-the-art intercity trains will come into service from late 2019, replacing the aging trains currently carrying customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast.
The trains will deliver improved comfort, enhanced safety, modernised features and amenities, and improved accessibility.
To enable the New Intercity Fleet (NIF) to run on the electrified network, some infrastructure upgrades are needed. This includes trackwork, changes to signals, station platform extensions and some minor station modifications to allow for the improved Automatic Selective Door Opening (ASDO) technology.
Customers will be able to catch the brand new trains on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line in late 2019 and the Blue Mountains Line in mid-2020. As the new trains are introduced into the network, the older V-sets which they are replacing will be gradually retired from service.
The purpose of the Registration of Interest and Market Sounding Exercise is to identify experienced and suitable qualified contracting organisations ('Registrants'), in the form of an entity or consortia, who are interested in participating in a future tender process for the Intercity V-Set train disposal.
Additional Details / Instructions: The purpose of the Registration of Interest is to identify experienced and suitably qualified contracting organisations ('Registrants'), in the form of an entity or consortia, who are interested in participating in the V-Set disposal.
