    ABOUT THE TENDERER: The South Eastern Melbourne Primary Health Network (SEMPHN) was established in July 2015 and is one of a nationwide network of Primary Health Networks (PHNs) that have been created as part of the Australian Government's current National Health Reforms.
    PHNs have the key objectives of increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of health services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes, and improving coordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care in the right place at the right time. The SEMPHN catchment comprises 1.4 million people and stretches from St Kilda to Sorrento and as far east as Bunyip, including the major population hubs of Monash, Dandenong, Moorabbin, Caulfield, Cranbourne, Frankston and Pakenham.
    ABOUT THE TENDER: The 3rd Round of After-Hours Grants will provide General Practice in the Local Government Areas of Cardinia, Kingston and Frankston the opportunity to apply for grant funding to increase effective, affordable and accessible face-to-face primary care services in the After Hours period.
    Interested eligible General Practices within these specific LGAs must commit to expanding their services by a minimum of 12 hours during the AH period. At least 2 of the additional hours must occur during a weekend after 12.00 pm on Saturday. Successful applicants must be ready to expand their opening hours by Monday 3 July 2017.

    The Health Research Council of New Zealand (HRC), with the support of the Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment, has joined the Global Alliance for Chronic Diseases (GACD). The GACD is an alliance of the world's largest public research funding agencies, and provides new research opportunities that target chronic diseases. GACD funds joint programmes researching lifestyle-related or chronic disease such as heart disease, diabetes, certain cancers, and lung diseases. The current GACD call focuses on implementation research in mental health.
    The HRC's first initiative with the GACD is to partner with the Ministry of Health to provide up to $2 million in funding to research better strategies to support Maori and Pacific youth with mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar affective disorders.

    Expressions of Interest.
    Are you interested in working with the Burnett Mary Regional Group (BMRG) to protect our region's unique plants, animals and habitats? If so, then they would love to hear your ideas! Expressions of interest are now being invited under BMRG's "Healthy Habitats" and "Keeping it Great" initiatives, supported through funding from the Australian Government's National Landcare Programme.
    The "Healthy Habitats" initiative provides up to $20,000 for each project aimed at protecting regional biodiversity. The "Keeping it Great" initiative provides up to $15,000 for each project that enhances the ecosystems of Fraser Island or the Great Sand Strait Ramsar wetland site.
    Activities that are eligible for funding include improved fire management, invasive plant or pest control and management of access to sensitive coastal habitats.
