The Alliance Group is looking to put in place a Group Drug Testing Provider to support a workforce of approximately 4700 during peak season for all its plants and business units throughout New Zealand. Potentially at some point, this may include testing contractors and visitors.
Alliance Group has recently decided, with the support of its unions, to introduce a group wide random drug testing program to supplement its existing drug testing regime (pre-employment, just cause and post incident). The random testing program will use saliva based testing following a successful trial at our Dannevirke Plant.
We would expect any potential supplier to be able to provide saliva based testing as part of our random programme along with the option of urine based testing for just cause, post incident and pre-employment for all our locations. In addition we would also like the option to access testing for employees who have entered a rehabilitation agreement with the company.

ACCIDENT COMPENSATION CORPORATION - SOLUTIONS TO REDUCE THE INCIDENCE AND SEVERITY OF WOUND INFECTIONS.
    RFx ID: 18203669.
    Close Date : Wednesday, 1 February 2017 5:00 PM.
Tender Type : Request for Information (Market research) (RFI).
Overview: The Accident Compensation Act 2001 has, as its overriding goal, to minimise both the overall incidence of injury in the community, and the impact of injury on the community (including economic, social, and personal costs). Claims for treatment injury can only be accepted according to the legislation. The two key provisions are that there must be a physical injury, and this has to be causally related to treatment delivered by one or more registered health professional. However, if the injury is a necessary part or ordinary consequence of the treatment it cannot be accepted as a treatment injury claim.
Preventing or reducing treatment injury is an important goal for ACC and will be achieved through helping the health sector improve the safety of healthcare. The main prevention principle is that potential harm can be identified and mitigated so risk can be reduced to others in the future. It is largely clinicians, their managers and clinical trainers who are best placed to identify and mitigate risk.
