The facility must maintain an efficient physical footprint, be relocatable, and withstand the harsh coastal climatic conditions of Coffs Harbour, such as the frequent heat, wind, salt, sand, hail and severe electrical storms. The university is seeking solutions that, as a minimum, provide concurrent maintainability.
    The University has engaged the services of a specialist Data Centre consultant to assist with the project.
    The new data centre is to be located adjacent to the northern wall of building 'A' at the Coffs Harbour Education Campus, Coffs Harbour (NSW). The new data centre is to be constructed in accordance with the Tender's selection criteria.

    SUMMARY OF SPECIFICATION
    The following summary indicates the general nature of the Works for which The Principal desires Tenders to be submitted and is issued to enable Contractors to make an assessment whether the Specification documents should be obtained from The Principal for the purpose of submitting a tender response. It does not form part of the Specification and should not be included as part of the Tenderer's offer.
    PURPOSE OF WORK
    The works required under this Contract is for the supply, installation and commissioning of two new Unit Air Compressors at Vales Point Power Station.
    The works also includes an optional portion for routine servicing of the new Unit Air Compressors, including the provision of consumables, for a two year period.
    NOTE: The works in Optional Portion 2 are at The Principal's option. The Principal at its sole discretion reserves the right to omit or include any individual item of the works at any time during the course of the Contract by written notice to the Contractor, with which the Contractor must comply. The Contractor will make no assumption as to the works content to be undertaken under this Optional Portion. The Principal reserves the sole right to exercise this Optional Portion.
    LOCATION OF SITE
    The Vales Point Power Station is located on the southern shore of Lake Macquarie, approximately 130 km north of Sydney, New South Wales, and approximately 3 km off the Pacific Highway North of Doyalson.
    EXTENT OF WORK
    The Contractor will be responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of two new Unit Air Compressors at Vales Point. The new compressors are to connect in to the existing Unit Air System, utilising the existing Unit Air and Station Air storage vessels.
    INSPECTION OF SITE
    All Tenderers must attend a mandatory Pre Tender meeting to be conducted at 09:00 am on the 8th February 2017 at Vales Point Power Station. Companies who do not attend the mandatory Pre Tender meeting will not be eligible to submit a Tender.
    Visitors to the Site must provide and wear their own safety hats, safety footwear, protective safety eyewear (clear glasses), long sleeved shirts (hi-vis) and long trousers or combination overalls (hi-vis).
    At this common 'On Site' meeting, all Tenderers shall be taken on an inspection of the Site in order for them to make themselves familiar with the conditions thereon and the rules and procedures applying to the Site.
    It is expected that all companies have downloaded and reviewed all Documents pertaining to the works prior to the site inspection.
    Proof of identity will be required prior to entry.
    Accredited Representatives of the firms proposing to submit a Tender wishing to attend the pre-tender site meeting will contact The Principal representative named below via email providing the name, company, position and mobile phone number of each accredited representative at least 24 hours prior to the meeting. A maximum of three people per company is allowed to attend.

    Description: The Department invites suitably qualified consultants/contractors to submit a tender for the Supply and Installation of suitable chain and sprockets for the AAT Dome Shutter. Requirements include:
    (a) AAT Dome Shutter drive chain and sprockets to be replaced as soon as possible.
    (b) Chain shall be replaced with a 1.5" pitch triple chain.
    (c) To provide a Factor of Safety of 7.0, as recommended for non-passenger lifting applications, the replacement chain should have min ultimate strength of 567.3 kN.
    (d) ISO 606 B series chain ('European Standard") is preferable due to a better wear resistance.
    (e) No allowance has been made in the telescope operations schedule for the chain replacement. The installation activity will need to be carefully planned to ensure that the telescope is operational each night.
    (f) Provision of a spare chain and sprocket set to allow for any future failures which may occur in the future.
    (g) Disposal of old chain and sprockets.
    (h) Supply a planned maintenance schedule to ensure the longevity of the replacement chain.
