WentWest is seeking Expressions of Interest from registered Psychologists and Mental Health professionals to provide services through Primary Mental Health Care (PHMC). This program replaces the previous Access to Allied Psychological Supports (ATAPs) program.
Successful candidates will become a registered provider for PMHC and will be able to provide services to clients that have been approved by WentWest after a referral from a GP or other health professional. Clients are unable to access Medicare Better Access and PMHC in the same year.
WentWest offers no guarantee of referrals under this program and each registered provider is responsible for their own marketing and promotion however providers will be listed on the WentWest website and may be allocated additional referrals where appropriate.
WentWest provides a purchase order for a set number of sessions after a client referral has been approved. Providers are required to submit a record of attendance with each invoice after a session has been completed with a client. After 6 sessions, providers are required to provide a progress report to the referring GP for approval for additional sessions. Current rate paid by WentWest is $140 plus GST for an hour session.
Primary health psychological services have a key role to play in the stepped care continuum of mental health services. The Contributing Lives, Thriving Communities Report described inadequacy in the 'one size fits all' approach of psychological services programmes such as the Better Access to Psychiatrists, Psychologists and General Practitioners though the Medicare Benefits Schedule (Better Access) initiative and the former Access to Allied Psychological Services (ATAPS) program. In response, PHN's are required to review existing primary health psychological services and realign these services to improve access to psychological care for underserviced population groups.
The key outcomes the PHN is seeking to address in commissioning primary health psychological services for underserviced groups are to:
- Improve availability and accessibility to psychological treatment for people from underserviced groups who typically do not engage in traditional models of care
- Improve integration between primary care, mental health services and the social services sector to provide patient centred approaches to care
- Enhance the flexibility of psychological services so consumers receive service commensurate with their need
- Utilisation of outcome measures to evaluate the effectiveness of the service, including client outcome and client experience measures
- Enhance availability of culturally appropriate and tailored interventions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
- Enhance availability of culturally appropriate and tailored interventions for culturally and linguistically diverse populations
- Enhance availability of tailored interventions for people living in target socioeconomically disadvantaged regions
- Enhance availability of tailored interventions for people living in geographically isolated parts of Wollondilly and Wingecarribee Local Government Areas
To be eligible to apply, the Respondent must be a legal entity. This can include:
- Mental health providers and or/organisations. Providers working in consortia or partnership will be scored favourably. Consortia or partnerships must have a single lead agency identified who will be the contracted entity.
- Aboriginal community controlled services
- Non-government organisations
Further detail can be found by downloading and reviewing the RFP documentation.

CAPITAL & COAST DISTRICT HEALTH BOARD. ADVANCE NOTICE - DATA VISUALISATION BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) SOFTWARE.
RFx ID: 18488151.
Close Date: Friday 28 April 2017 at 4.00 pm.
Notice of Information (NOI).
Overview: Capital & Coast District Health Board (CCDHB) intends to procure data visualisation business intelligence (BI) software before December 2017.
A RFI was sought in February. There were 19 responses to the RFI. The DHB thanks all respondents for supporting the indicative business case.
In March our ELT has endorsed an indicative business case for using new data visualisation BI software and authorised a competitive tender process to be undertaken. The outcome of this process will be a detailed business case supporting a preferred provider. There is no guarantee that the detailed business case will be accepted.
Likely two-stage process:
The high level of interest may mean that a two stage process will be undertaken: registration of interest (ROI) and short-listing, followed by request for proposal. The exact nature of the process will be determined before the end of March and will be clear when the proposal process is listed on GETS.
We expect to issue the ROI in April. Given the Easter and the school holidays at the start of the month, it may be closer to the end of April.
We are exploring the option of requesting that the bulk of the ROI submission is by video rather than 'paper'. We would still accept 'paper' submissions but feel that the nature of the software product lends itself better to video. We would detail our expectations about the structure and content of any such video and we may choose to provide anonymised data to assist you to tailor the video to our situation. There would be some requirements that could not easily be shown in video and those would require a 'paper-based' submission. Please send in any concerns you would have about this kind of process by Monday 27 March 2017 at 9.00 am.
Communications prior to the issuing of the ROI:
The DHB does not wish to receive product presentations prior to the issuing of the ROI. However, if vendors wish to speak to someone prior to the issue date, they may contact us.
During the RFI process, vendors asked a number of questions that related to the DHB's detailed requirements and many were technical. As we develop those requirements over the coming fortnight, we would appreciate it if you could please email with any questions you feel need answering as part of the ROI documentation.
Please have those questions to us by Monday 27 March 2017 at 9.00 am.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please refer to the GETS Internet Site below (free to register) for all contact information and/or documentation relating to this tender notice https://www.gets.govt.nz/CCDHB/ExternalTenderDetails.htm?id=18488151
