RFT ID C17/0296.
Closes: 17 April 2018 at 10:00am.
Tender Details: A major program of the NSW Cancer Plan involves facilitating better engagement of primary health care throughout the cancer care continuum, including during treatment. The current project strengthening the capacity of the cancer system through primary care: academic detailing intervention seeks to engage general practitioners (GPs) in two primary healthcare networks (PHNs) and deliver evidence-based messages.
Two key areas of work for the Cancer Institute NSW are in Cancer Screening and Cancer Services. This project will target these two areas with evidence-based messages relating to each.
Phase one of the project strengthening the capacity of the cancer system through primary care: academic detailing intervention was completed in Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network and Local Health District (cancer referrals) and Western Sydney Primary Health Network (bowel cancer screening). This phase was successfully completed with an external vendor who developed a project design, methodology, evaluation plan, evidence-based messages and collateral materials for the cancer referrals and bowel screening arms of the project.
This Request for Tender is for phase two of the project, to implement and evaluate an academic detailing and an information only intervention in Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (cancer referrals) and an academic detailing intervention (face to face and small group) in Western Sydney Primary Health Network (bowel cancer screening), using the project design, methodology, evaluation plan, evidence-based messages and collateral materials developed in phase one of the project. The intervention in Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network (cancer referrals) will be delivered first, with the intervention in Western Sydney Primary Health Network (bowel cancer screening) being delivered after August 2018.
