    Tenders are invited for the proposed contract for the construction of Package A of the M4 Smart Motorway project.
    Package A forms part of the overall 36 kilometre stretch of M4 corridor subject to 'managed motorway' upgrades which has been divided into several packages based on delivery and procurement methodology.
    The scope of works for Package A includes:· widening of M4 Motorway between Roper Road and the M7 to four lanes in each direction
    · noise wall construction
    · upgrade of power and communications cableway between east of Mamre Road and east of Reservoir Road interchanges
    · installation of footings for Integrated Speed and Lane Use Sign (ISLUS) gantries and VMS between Mamre Road and Reservoir Road interchanges

    Mandatory Option - Civil works at the Reservoir Road interchange including:

    The applicant must be prequalified under the National Prequalification System for Civil (Road and Bridge) Construction Contracts at Category R5 or higher for Roadworks, B3 or higher for Bridgeworks and Financial level F100 or higher.
    The applicant must also have been shortlisted during the recently completed EOI process.
    The successful applicant is to provide construction services under a "Construct Only" contract and will be selected through a detailed tender evaluation process. Upon completion of the evaluation process, a GC21 Contract will be finalised and awarded to the successful tenderer.
    All applicants must comply with the NSW Code of Practice for Procurement (NSW Code) and the New South Wales Government's Implementation Guidelines to the New South Wales Code of Practice for Procurement: Building and Construction Industry (NSW Guidelines). The Building Code 2013 (Building Code) and the Supporting Guidelines to the Building Code 2013 (Supporting Guidelines) apply to this project.
    It is a requirement of this project that the successful contractor be accredited under the Australian Government Building and Construction WHS Accreditation Scheme (the Scheme) established by the Fair Work (Building Industry) Act 2012 (FWBI Act) at the time of entering into the contract for the contract work as defined under section 5 of the FWBI Act and maintains accreditation under that Scheme while the contract work is being carried out.
    Regulation 24(h) of the Fair Work (Building Industry - Accreditation Scheme) Regulations 2005 outlines provisions applying to joint venture/alliance arrangements that include accredited and unaccredited members. The section starts 550 metres to the south of Sunnyside Road and ends 150 metres south of Sunnyside Road and has safety issues created by excessive or inadequate superelevation, deformed pavement and poor alignment. The safety improvements will include shape correction and replacement of an existing guardrail.
    The design report and drawings for this safety improvement project have been included with these RFT documents. The shape correction is proposed to be achieved through a nominal thickness of makeup material.
